About the Brand
The Name
In Latin, Socia means companion, ally, partner, or associate.
Through both scientific research and my own life experiences, I have come to deeply appreciate a simple truth: humans are built to work together. My work is guided by this principle—I approach every project as a meaningful partner, not a detached consultant. I collaborate closely with clients and stakeholders to turn insights into action, ensuring that every perspective is valued.
You might also notice that Socia is the feminine form of Socius, literally translating to a female companion. Traditionally, masculine forms are treated as the default in many languages. By choosing the feminine form, I hope to reflect an inclusive approach at the very foundation of my work. Across my projects, I aim to challenge assumptions and create opportunities to amplify voices that have often gone unheard.
Ultimately, Socia represents collaboration, inclusivity, and human-centered problem solving—values that guide everything I do.
The Logo
The logo grew out of my interest in data visualization and clear communication. I aim to present the full story behind the data, not just averages or summaries. The stacked dotplot design is simple enough that anyone can see: two groups of points, one clearly higher than the other. This reflects my belief that people are naturally capable of understanding data when it’s presented clearly.
The vertical offset in the logo also represents impact and action. Every project I take on is designed to generate meaningful insights that can inform real decisions and drive change. I strive to honor the time, attention, and resources my partners invest, while keeping in mind the broader ripple effect of my work on those affected downstream.
The surrounding braided circle captures the deeply contextualized, interconnected, and humanistic components of my work, recognizing that quality and ethical work necessarily brings together different people, perspectives, systems, and ways of knowing to create stronger combined products and processes.
In short, the logo embodies transparency, actionable insight, and a human-centered approach—making complex information accessible, understandable, and useful for everyone involved.
